In Doubt We Trust?

The Chicago Booth/Kellogg School Financial Trust Index, released January 24th, reported that people’s trust in America’s financial system has increased from 20 to 26 percent over the last two years.

While this reflects a positive trend, the Index remains alarming. Approximately 3 out of 4 Americans still do not trust financial institutions.

To better understand how people feel, AXA Equitable took to the streets of Chicago. We asked people whom they trust for financial advice? What we heard sounded less like a positive trend and more like deeply rooted doubt.
